Lauron Robert Ratley, 33, of Washington, died unexpectedly, Saturday, July 7, 2018. He was born October 27, 1984, in Washington, a son of Joseph J. Barnes of Washington and Darla C. Ratley Phillips of Riverdale, Georgia. Mr. Ratley attended Washington High School and was employed as a cook at the Olive Garden. He enjoyed pick-up games of football and basketball, listening to music, telling jokes and clowning around, and horsing around with his sisters. A fan of the culinary arts, he especially loved breakfast foods. Mr. Ratley was a loving father and hardworking man who enjoyed spending time with his family. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a son, Josiah Robert Ratley; a daughter, Eden Nevaeh Ratley; two brothers, Amiah Barnes and Aaliyah Barnes, all of Washington; three sisters, Sara Ratley of Atlanta, Georgia, Ashlei Barnes of Washington and Shannan Phillips of Atlanta, Georgia; maternal grandmother, Christine Sims of Youngstown, Ohio; maternal great-grandmother, Hope McClendon of Youngstown, Ohio; stepfather, Wray B. Phillips, Jr., of Washington; several nieces and nephews; and loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends will be received on Saturday from 4 till 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to his children and family.
