Lawrence Regis Perna, affectionately known as Larry, was born on September 5, 1947, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. He passed away on January 3, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, leaving behind a legacy of love and generosity that touched the lives of many.

Larry graduated from Franklin Regional High School in 1965. He joined the United States Army in 1967, where he served until his honorable discharge in 1973, achieving the rank of Sergeant.

Professionally, Larry dedicated his career to Union Switch and Signal, where he worked in reprographics and engineering. His contributions were a reflection of his intelligence and work ethic, but it was his personality that truly defined him. Known as the life of the party, Larry was everyone’s friend—his great sense of humor and big heart made him a cherished presence in the lives of those around him.

Larry was particularly close to his sister, Denise (Perna) Folle, this love extended to Denise's family, including his niece, Nikki (Scott) Chambers, and his great nephew Chase Chambers and great nieces, Gia and Capri Chambers. Also holding a special place in his heart were his nephews, Derek and Jake Folle, cousins Gloria and Roy Cavada and his lifelong best friend, Toni Ferguson.

Larry enjoyed spending quality time with his family, often found on his sister's deck with Remi by his side.

Larry is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence "Smitty" Perna, and mother Marie (Pons) Perna, as well as his brother-in-law, Dick Folle. Though he is no longer with us, the memories of his laughter, kindness, and loving spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date. He will be laid to rest at the Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military honors. All arrangements are entrusted to the care of the William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd.,
