Lena Blanche Hughes

Lena Blanche Hughes, 83, of Meadowlands, died on Friday, December 15, 2018, in her home. She was born on March 10, 1935, in Wheeling, WV., a daughter of the late John and Blanche Mills Luckett. Mrs. Hughes retired from Washington and Jefferson College, following 33 years working as a custodian. Surviving are six children, Linda J. Burns, Michael (Judy) Luckett, Debra J. Grew, Terry Lee (John) Bucy, Perry Edward Cheek, and Penny Marie Cheek; a brother, William Luckett; a sister, Connie McDonald; seven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. Deceased are two daughters, Gerrie Lynn Cheek and Sherry Ann Cheek; a grandson, James N. Burns; and a great granddaughter, Allison Jane Warco. Friends will be received on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., the time of services, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
