Leslie “Les” Norman Barni, 73, of Washington, died Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Washington Hospital. He was born November 24, 1947, in Charleroi, the son of the late Norman and Katherine Twardon Barni. Les was a Trinity High School graduate, worked for Brockway Glass, and retired from Ferro Corporation. He also worked many years at Beard’s Auto Center. He worked at Hawthorne Woods until his death. On April 22, 1972, Leslie married Kay Strawn, who survives. Also surviving are a son Jeremy (Kelly) Barni of Washington; daughters Julie Tabish of Lake Orion, MI, and Joy (Derek) Taylor of Canonsburg; a brother Anthony (Joanna) Barni of Virginia; sisters Judy (Walt) Pittek of Pittsburgh, and Patti Weber of Houston; grandchildren Zachary, Jacob and MacKenzie Tabish, Aaron and Noah Taylor, Matthew and Gianna Barni; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Les in death, along with his parents, was a brother-in-law, Douglas Strawn. Les was an avid sports fan, he bowled every Friday, and he loved watching his grandchildren’s sporting events. He attended Washington Alliance Church. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, all services are private. Arrangements are entrusted to William G.
