Louise Mefford Stuck

Louise Mefford Stuck, of Washington, PA, passed away at Southmont Presbyterian SeniorCare on, September 4, 2025 – her one hundred and first birthday.

She was born September 4, 1924, in Indian Head, PA. a daughter of the late Milton McClain Mefford and Elizabeth Theressa (Wilson) Mefford.

On September 3, 1949, she married Russell Dean Stuck, who died December 29, 2016.

Louise was a 1944 graduate of Trinity High School, then attended the Uniontown Hospital School of Nursing, graduating as a Registered Nurse. She worked at Extended Care of Washington Hospital, then went on to work at Sharpstown General Hospital in Texas.

A devout Christian, she was a member of Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church in Washington.

Louise was an avid reader, a skilled seamstress, enjoyed square dancing and watching TV, particularly game shows,

She is survived by her loving daughters Kathy Louise Gibson (Pastor Gary) of Washington and Beverly Ann Brundige (John) of Stockdale, Ga; her treasured grandchildren Melissa Lynn Gibson of Washington, PA and Nicole Leigh King (Douglas) of Eighty-Four, PA; and great-granddaughter Melia Nicole King.

In addition to her parents and husband, Louise is predeceased by her sister Virginia Mae Kurata of Lawrence, KS, and brothers Milton M. Mefford, Jr., of Claremore, OK, and Donald R. Mefford of Dallas, TX.

Louise will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Russell, at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
