Loretta (Hatfield) Staley was born on September 29, 1927, in Washington Pa., She was the daughter of the late Earl and Laura (Dinch) Hatfield.
A 1946 graduate of Trinity High School, Loretta worked and retired from J.C. Penney's and Sears. She kept busy by working at her niece's podiatry office in later years. She loved spending time with her family.
On August 28, 1946, she married her beloved husband, Robert Staley. They shared 66 wonderful years together. Robert passed away on October 20, 2012. Also deceased, her cherished brother, Dr. Kenneth (Eileen) Hatfield, paternal grandparents Demas and Eva Hatfield, maternal grandparents Harry and Kizzy Kelly Dinch.
She was deeply cherished by her nephew, Kenneth Hatfield II; nieces, Dr. Cynthia Hatfield and her husband Dr. Bernard Andrews, Judith (Roger) Horne and Katherine (Edward) Wise II; great nieces and nephews, Kenneth, Chelsea and Tara Hatfield, Brittany, Katrina, Victoria, Bernard, Robert, and Christian Andrews, Tiffany, Emily, and Matthew Horne, Edward, Josh and Cody Wise; great-great nieces and nephews, Adeline, Paxton, Wyatt, Bella Penelope, Conner, Evelyn and Lowell. Though she and Robert had no children of their own, Loretta's heart was always full of family. She enjoyed Sunday dinners, where her warmth and hospitality created cherished memories.
Loretta was a devoted lifelong member of First Christian Church, where her grace, kindness, and steadfast devotion touched all who knew her.
Friends and family are invited to the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 4PM to 8PM. A funeral service will take place on October 10, 2025, at 10AM at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Mt. Prospect Cemetery.
