Louis Calvin Lattimore Jr., a cherished musician and beloved member of his community, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, in Washington, Pennsylvania, at the age of 83. Born on April 14, 1942, in Washington, Louie demonstrated a profound love for music early in life, becoming a self-taught guitar player who captivated audiences across many states for over 30 years.

Louie’s musical journey was highlighted by his tenure with the band Jonah's Whale, where he shared the stage with his brother Jerry, creating lasting memories through their performances. His passion for music extended beyond just playing; Louie relished singing in the choir at the Bethlehem Bible Temple, where his contributions were deeply felt.

In addition to his artistic pursuits, Louie was an individual of quiet demeanor, known for his kindness and caring nature. He earned his high school diploma from Trinity High School and later an Associate Degree, following which he honorably served in the United States Army, where he was distinguished for his commitment and service.

Throughout his life, Louie found joy not only in his music but also in reading his Bible, a testament to his spiritual devotion. His character was molded by a love for family, and he leaves behind a legacy of warmth and love that will forever resonate with those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Louie is survived by his nephews, Michael Dennis Lattimore, and John (Niekeya) Lattimore; his nieces, Ronke (Rubin) Tapp, Nycole Lattimore, and Tiffany Lattimore; his great niece, Leilana Lattimore; his aunt, Barbara Jean Johnson; and his former sister-in-law, Renee Bridges.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry, John Edward, and Dennis Lattimore; his half-brother, Joseph Johnson; his half-sister, Joyce Wilkerson; his aunts, Joan Castor and Yvonne Castor Ivory; and his parents, Louis Calvin and Velma Mae (Castor) Lattimore Sr.

Louis Calvin Lattimore Jr. will be remembered not just for his remarkable talent but also for the love and kindness he extended to all. His spirit will continue to inspire many as they hold dear the memories created through his music and the love he shared.

As per Louie's wishes he will be laid to rest at a later date.  All arrangements are entrusted to the care of the William G. Neal Funeral Home 925 Allison Ave Washington PA
