Louise Stimmell McKinney, 89, of Washington, passed away Monday, May 11, 2026, in her home.
She was known as “Mimi” by her grandchildren and family, and “Weezie” by the kids on the bus she drove.
Louise was born April 16, 1937, in Washington, the daughter of the late John E. Stimmell and Bertha Louise Persie.
She attended Washington High School and was a 1955 graduate of Chartiers Houston High School.
Louise had many jobs throughout her working career, including Stimmell’s Greenhouse and Florist, GG&C bus driver for 13 years, and Washington Hospital as a phlebotomist. She volunteered for Family Services on East Maiden Street, managed by Helen and Norman Lyon, where clothing, shoes, and toys were collected for families in need.
She was Methodist by faith and a member of West Washington United Methodist Church.
Louise was a phenomenal cook and baker, making everything from scratch. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, collecting Boyd’s Bears snowmen, and attending craft shows. She coached softball teams, the Darts and The Leftovers All Star Team.
In September of 1956, she married Charles E. McKinney, who passed away January 17, 1999.
Surviving are a son, Rick (Carrie Moore) McKinney; three daughters, Vicky (Greg) Behling, Darlene (James) McClelland, and Connie McKinney; five grandchildren, Dennis Jones, Cassandra Jones, Amanda Behling, Christine Behling, and Gregory Behling; nine great-grandchildren, Nicholas Jones, Benjamin Jones, Brantley Beech, Adelynne Beech, Braxton Beech, Lewis Osberg, Kenna Osberg, Pruitt Osberg, and Seneca Behling; and a sister-in-law, Patricia Stimmell.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents are two siblings, John Edward Stimmell and Dolorse Roberts; and a daughter, Bonnie McKinney, who died in infancy.
Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2026, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2026. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
