Lynne Seiple, a devoted mother and a woman whose life was marked by kindness, a love for children, and an enduring passion for art and culture, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, at the Premier Washington Health Center in Washington, PA. Born on July 30, 1937, in Sunbury, Pennsylvania, Lynne’s journey was one of heartfelt dedication and quiet strength.

Lynne graduated from high school in her beloved hometown of Sunbury, where the foundation of her warm and welcoming spirit was laid. She spent much of her life working in retail sales, a career path that allowed her to connect with many people and bring a touch of kindness and attentiveness to their lives. Yet, it was her passion beyond the workplace that truly painted the portrait of Lynne’s character.

She loved working with the inter-city kids, finding joy and fulfillment in helping young lives flourish. Her commitment extended to the Moyer Institute of Dance, where she offered her time and support, fostering a nurturing environment for aspiring dancers. Lynne had a profound appreciation for ballet, a love that was beautifully encapsulated one unforgettable day when she had a ten-minute conversation with the legendary Mikhail Baryshnikov—an encounter that filled her with excitement and joy, reflecting the depth of her appreciation for the art form.

In addition to her cultural interests, Lynne was an avid photographer, capturing moments with a thoughtful eye. She embraced Transcendental Meditation as part of her daily life, a practice that no doubt contributed to her calm and gracious presence. Culinary arts were also close to her heart; she took great pleasure in cooking and baking, sharing the fruits of her labor with family and friends.

Above all else, Lynne’s proudest accomplishment was being a wonderful mother. Her love and devotion shaped the life of her son, Gregory Mershon, who survives her along with her cherished sisters, Jean (Donald) Eckrod and Jill (Jaimie) Rescigno. Lynne was preceded in death by her parents, William Volinsky and Muriel (Carman) Westra, whose memories she carried with her always.

Lynne’s passing leaves a tender void, but the memories of her kindness, her welcoming nature, and her dedication to family and community remain vivid and enduring. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Premier Washington Health Center for the compassionate care they provided in her final days.

In remembering Lynne Seiple, we celebrate a life woven with love, service, and gentle strength—a life that touched many and will long be remembered with warmth and affection.  All services are entrusted to the William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave. Washington PA.
