Margaret Jean Crowe Mayne, 96, of Washington, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.
She was born July 25, 1929, in Claysville, a daughter of the late William Burton Crowe and Dorothy Lucille Hilton Crowe.
Margaret attended West Alexander schools.
She was a homemaker, who enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, gardening, sewing, cooking, canning and watching soap operas on television.
On December 26, 1945, she married Norman Lee Mayne Sr., who passed away March 10, 2008. They were married for 62 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Sylvia J. Fleenor and Mary Lee Shepard; a sister, Carolyn Redman; eight grandchildren, Scott, Jeanette, Annette, Callie, Dawn, Debra, Aaron, and Carrie; sixteen great grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a son, Norman Lee “Sonny” Mayne Jr., who passed away August 20, 2002; a granddaughter, Ashley; two great-grandchildren, Josh and David; and three siblings, Charles Edward Crowe, Thomas Lee Crowe and William B. Crowe Jr.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a service to follow at 12 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Chaplain Dana Motte officiating. Interment will follow in West Alexander Cemetery.
