Mario DiSaia Jr., 77, of Elizabeth, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2025.
He was born March 5, 1948, in McKeesport, the son of the late Mario and Christine DiSaia.
Mario was a graduate of Serra Catholic High School in McKeesport. He attended Lea Seminary College in Albert Lea, Minnesota, where he met Kathleen Fay Wolff of Albert Lea.
On November 23, 1968, he married Kathleen, and then they moved to Glassport.
He worked in the shipyards of Dravo Co. on Neville Island, where he built boats and barges as a welder for 10 years. He was previously a Stone Mason in Local 33 out of Pittsburgh, where he retired after 20 years of service. He lived his last days in Elizabeth.
Mario was an active member of Clairton Sportsmen Club for 57 years. He was a dedicated range officer for the club, and an expert rifle shooter and all-around enthusiast of the sport.
He was a people person and always volunteered to help with youth programs and teach firearm safety and marksmanship. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He was fascinated with history, philosophy, symphony music and old westerns.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 56 years, Kathleen DiSaia; his son, Charles D. DiSaia and his wife, Becky, and their two children, Isabella, and Charles; and his daughter, Julie and her husband, Norman Petrelli.
Arrangements are private and entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
