Marvin Dale Calvert, 88, of Washington, PA, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Southminster Place in Washington.
He was born on April 10, 1937, in East Finley Township, the son of the late Amos Edgar and Della Mae Ashbrook Calvert.
Dale graduated from Claysville High School in 1955.
He went on to work as an electrician for Fort Pitt Bridge Works in Pittsburgh and eventually retired from Jessop Steel Company.
On September 14, 1957, Dale married Betty G. Hagerty who died on July 19, 2007.
Dale cherished his family and enjoyed traveling with them to Myrtle Beach; he also loved golf. He was known for his great sense of humor, and he loved to joke around with family and friends.
He was a member of the Church of the Covenant.
He is preceded in death by two daughters, Kimberly Sue Calvert and Janis Lynn Crawford, as well as three brothers, William “Bill” Amos Calvert, Donald L. Calvert, and John Calvert.
Dale is survived by three sisters-in-law, Edna, Marjorie, and Lori and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA where a funeral service will follow at 6 p.m.
Interment will take place in Washington Cemetery.
