Mary E. Bobik

Mary E. Bobik, born on March 2, 1931, left this world peacefully on July 15, 2026, at the age of 95. She was a steadfast presence and the heart of her family, and her gentle spirit will echo in the hearts of those who love her.

A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughters Nelsoline Smith, Regina Yurkovich, Mary Ellen (David) Chipps, Helen Bobik,Sabina Bobik and son, Rudolph Bobik Jr.; numerous grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Their lives, enriched by her warmth and guidance, are her proudest legacy.

Mary was a woman of remarkable strength and unyielding resourcefulness. Those who knew her remember how she helped her husband build the very house in which she lovingly raised her children—unafraid to climb a ladder or shingle a roof, even as she cared for six little ones. These ordinary but courageous acts came as naturally to Mary as the sunrise, embodying her determined and loving nature. She grew up in a time when a little had to stretch a long way, and her childhood as an old-time farm girl shaped the ingenuity and humility that became her lifelong trademarks. She taught by example: making do with what she had, never complaining, always giving.

Mary’s work ethic and dedication extended beyond her home. She was employed by Ball Glass, where she brought the same sense of diligence and dependability that guided her family life. Her ability to care—tirelessly, without expecting recognition—touched all who had the honor of knowing her.

Mary’s journey was marked by moments of both joy and sorrow. She is reunited in peace with her beloved husband Rudolph Bobik; brothers-in-law Mike Smith and Nick Yurkovich; and her parents, Dean and Saddie Gardner. She also joins her siblings Roy, Elge, Louise, Virginia, and Patricia, whose memories she cherished deeply.

Today, those who mourn her loss do so with gratitude for the many years they were blessed by her presence. The values she lived by continue on, a living tribute to her life well-lived.

Friends and family are invited to a graveside service on Tuesday July 28, 2026 at Claysville Cemetery at 2PM.  All services entrusted to the William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave. Washington PA
