Maryann Manion

Maryann Manion, 91, of Washington, PA died peacefully surrounded by family at Premier Rehabilitation and Nursing Home on December 26th, 2025.

Maryann was born February 8th,1934, a daughter of the late Howard and Virginia McMurray of Washington, Pa. She graduated from Trinity High School in 1952, where she was a majorette.

After graduating, she worked at Bell Telephone, the Observer Reporter, and as a secretary at Immaculate Conception High School until her retirement.

Maryann was a member of Phi Delta Si Sorority, Martha Washington Society, Catholic Daughters, Christians Mothers at Immaculate Conception and The Franciscan Ministry.

Maryann enjoyed spending her time with family at the beach. She also had a love of flowers, gardening, and birds. She was skilled at sewing and knitting and also greatly loved taking boat rides with her son on Lake Erie.

On July 18, 1959, she married her beloved, John Edward Manion Jr. They celebrated 57 years of marriage until his passing in 2016. Together they raised four children: Diane (Don) Snoke of Washington, Beth Manion (deceased), Lisa (John) Antonelli of Washington, and Edward (Melissa) Manion of Lorain, OH.

Maryann had 5 grandchildren: John (Stacey) Antonelli, Alisia (Jon) Berg, Amanda (Dustin) Jolliffe, Jennifer (Jim) Jennings, and Jack (Meredith) Manion. She also had 6 great-grandchildren: Parker Jennings, Carter Jennings, Gemma Antonelli, Liliana Berg, Gabriella Berg, and Nicolas Berg.

Also surviving are her two brothers Howard McMurray, Jr. and Richard McMurray and her nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her parents and daughter Beth, is a sister Janie (Nick) Rummo.

Friends and family are welcome to celebrate Maryann’s life on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
