Mona Lea Marker-Reed Megyesy, 92, of Houston, passed away Monday, October 27, 2025, in her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on March 14, 1933, in Washington, daughter of the late Ira W. Reed and Myrtle Marker Reed.

Mona was raised in Washington and attended Washington High School.

On March 19, 1949, she married Clarence M. Megyesy Sr., who passed away August 31, 2009.

She was a devout member of Central Assembly of God in Houston.

Mona was a lifetime homemaker and loved God and her family. She lived a long and happy life. She was ready for her Lord and Saviour to take her to be reunited with her husband of 60 years, her eldest daughter, Mona May Megyesy, her two beloved dogs, Gypsy and Missy, and with many other family and friends that preceded her in death.

Surviving are her loving son, Clarence M. (Noi) Megyesy Jr.; her devoted daughter, Nancy L. (Joe) Koraido; two granddaughters, Sandy (Rich) Giammanco, and Lisa Shwallon; and five great-grandchildren, Emily (Tyler) Lenhart, Caitlyn Garvin, and Vanessa, Andrew, and Alison Shwallon.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, husband, and eldest daughter, are a sister, Evelyn Whithurst, and three brothers, Voigt Reed, Merle Reed and Wayne Reed.

Family and friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. and are invited to stay for the 3 p.m. service on Saturday, November 1, 2025, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Todd Stemple officiating. Inurnment will be private in Mt. Prospect Cemetery at a later date.

The family would like to thank Mona's neighbors who always looked out for and helped her any way they could. They are also deeply thankful for Mona's special friend, Patricia, for her companionship and care. Thanks are extended to Dr. Nicholas Fuerst, Dr. Sean Kelly, and Central Assembly of God for their exceptional care and attention given to Mona.
