Patricia (Lowther) Cook, a beloved figure in her community and a cherished Mother and Grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, in Washington, PA, where she was born on October 5, 1944. She will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A dedicated professional, Patricia worked as a Secretary for the Director of Athletics at Washington High School, where she was respected for her commitment and friendly demeanor. Her roots run deep in the community, having attended Washington High School and proudly graduating with the Class of 1962.
Patricia's life was marked by her unwavering love and care for her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, taking immense pride in her role as nurturer and guide. She cherished the moments spent baking cookies with her grandchildren during Christmas, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
On May 12, 1973, Patricia married her late husband, William Cook, and together they built a life centered around love and family. Patricia poured her energy into nurturing those around her, creating a home that was welcoming and warm, always putting others before herself. Her selfless and caring nature made her a beacon of kindness in the lives of many.
Patricia’s contributions extended beyond her family. She was actively involved in her community, volunteering for organizations such as the Kiwanis Club, Lamoyne House, and Hawthorn Woods. Furthermore, her passion for serving others was evident in her role as a trained Lay Pastor for Washington Presbytery. A proud member of the Scottish Heritage Society, Patricia also embraced her cultural roots, helping to foster a sense of community and tradition.
Surviving Patricia are her daughter, Kristi (Fredy) Carranza; her grandsons, Alex and Leo Carranza; her brother, Cork (Tissy) Lowther; and a friend of the family, Shannon Fish. These loved ones carry forward the legacy of her love and selflessness.
Patricia was preceded in death by her father, George Lowther; her mother, Katherine "Kate" (Sulitz) Lowther; and her husband, William Cook. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, warmth, and dedication that will forever be remembered by those she touched. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her, serving as a reminder of the profound impact of a life lived with love.
Friends and family are invited to the Church of the Covenant 267 East Beau Street Washington PA Wednesday on January 21, 2026 from 10AM to 12PM for a visitation followed by a service at 12PM and a luncheon.
