Patricia Kay Donovan

Patricia Kay Donovan, age 88, of Washington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 8, 2025 after a brief illness.

She was born January 25, 1937, in Washington, a daughter of the late Catherine J. Keeling (Donovan) Hammond and William J. Donovan.

Patricia was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School.

She went on to work as an administrative assistant for the Girl Scouts of SWPA’s Washington branch from 1979 until its closing in 1997. She then worked at Target as a fitting room attendant from 1999 to 2005, when she retired.

Patty enjoyed talking with her Bellmead friends; going to the casino; watching the horses race at the meadows; watching the Young and the Restless; doing crossword puzzles; volunteering and helping with events at the Bellmead apartments and reading her newspaper twice a day; the first time to skim, and the second time to thoroughly read and enjoy.

Surviving are 2 nieces, Catherine “Kitty” Simms and Tanya Simms Kief Huettner (Kurt), 2 nephews, Matthew “Choo” Simms, Chris “Critter” (Donna) Simms; 3 great nieces, Sabrina Simms (Steve), Brittany Simms, Shianne “Serena” Kief; a great nephew, Charles “Charlie” Kief, and one great-great nephew.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Martha “Marty” Donovan Simms Ashmore and Mary “Ginny” Salada; and step father, Matthew Hammond.

Arrangements and services are private and entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington.
