Patricia Jane Shriver, 84 of Washington, died Wednesday, December 5, 2018, after a long illness, at Evergreen Personal Care Home. She was born June 8, 1934 in Taylorstown, the daughter of the late William Garrett Miller and Pearl Grimes Miller. She was a lifetime homemaker lovingly caring for her family. She loved to cook and did it well. Patricia was a lifetime member of Taylorstown Christian Church, where she served most of her life in many capacities, as a deacon, youth leader, member of both Christian Women Fellowship and the Women’s Society of Christian Church. She also loved to camp and to travel the country in her motor home with her husband, family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. On February 25, 1950, she married Willis D. Shriver Jr., who died August 26, 2010. Surviving are a son, Richard Dean (Janet Lynn Baumgartner) Shriver of Taylorstown; three grandsons, Brett Matthew Shriver of Claysville, Heath Aaron Shriver of Taylorstown and Matthew Jared Pope of Florida; six great grandchildren, Mattalynn, Morgan, Aspyn, Penelope, Cole and Gaberiel Shriver and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are two daughters, Wanda Shriver and Marcy Pope; a granddaughter, Carrie Lynnette Shriver; two sisters, Gertrude Griffith and Martha Spencer; three brothers, Thomas Edward Miller and William “Red” Miller and John L. Miller. Friends will be received Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd, 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Monday, December 10, 2018 at 1:00 pm. With Pastor Betty Riecks officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Gardens.
