Paul Haines McNeely, beloved family man, passed away on April 24, 2026, in Washington, Pennsylvania. Born on June 9, 1948, in Washington, PA, Paul’s life was marked by both professional achievement and a deep commitment to those he loved.
Paul was an alumnus of Trinity High School and went on to graduate from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. His professional career spanned over two decades working at Washington Steel, where he contributed his expertise and unwavering work ethic. Known for his brilliance and patient demeanor, Paul was respected by colleagues and friends alike.
Beyond his professional life, Paul was passionate about music, holding a special fondness for the Beatles and The Traveling Wilburys, which complemented his love for the vibrant hippy culture he embraced in his youth and adulthood. He was also an avid fan of WVU football and basketball, and this enthusiasm was a cherished part of his identity. Paul's proudest accomplishments included coaching softball and tutoring his children, roles that allowed him to nurture and support those closest to him.
Paul is survived by his wife, Christine (Miller), whom he married in August 1993. He is also remembered by his daughters, Kate (Nate) Rabenold and Megan (Andy) Ellis, and his grandchildren, Harper and Hadley Rabenold. Family bonds extended to his brother-in-law David (JoAnn) Miller, nephews Brett Miller and Ryan (Sara) Miller, niece Erin (Jeff) Wilson, and great nephews Theodore and Curtis.
Paul was preceded in death by his first wife, Cyndi Prall, whom he married in June of 1976 and who passed away in April 1992, and by his parents, Paul and Sarah (Moses) McNeely.
Paul Haines McNeely lived a life marked by kindness, intelligence, and an enduring dedication to family and community. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank Southmont Senior Care for all their support and wonderful care during Paul's time with them.
All services will be private and are entrusted to the William G. Neal Funeral Home.
