Paul D. Shaw

Paul Shaw, born May 15, 1954, and passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved him.

Paul was a farmer at heart and took great pride in the life he built through hard work, dedication, and a genuine love for what he did. Farming was more than a job to Paul—it was a way of life. He loved being outdoors, working the land, and spending his days doing what he loved.

Above all else, Paul cherished his family, especially his grandchildren. He rarely missed an opportunity to watch them do what they loved. Whether it was football, baseball, softball, basketball, cross country, track, wrestling, dance, or drama. Paul was there—and more often than not, he was the first one there. His grandchildren could always count on looking toward the stands and seeing Pap Pap cheering them on and supporting them every step of the way.  Paul’s presence at their games and events meant more than simply showing up. It was his way of saying, without ever having to say the words, “I’m proud of you.” He took great joy in watching his grandchildren grow, compete, work hard, and pursue their dreams.

Paul will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his love of farming, his devotion to his family, and the countless memories he created with those closest to him. His grandchildren will forever carry with them the memory of looking toward the stands and knowing Pap Pap was there.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Betty (Carlisle) Shaw; his son, Cory Shaw and his wife, Amy, and their children, Ellie, Evan, Brock, and Jenna; his son, Jason Shaw and his wife, Valerie, and their children, Cameron and Carter; and his sister, Linda Shaw.

He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and will miss him more than words can express. His legacy will live on through his family, the lessons he taught them, and the love and support he gave so freely.

He may no longer be in the stands, but his grandchildren will always know he is there cheering them on, just as he always did.   Paul was preceded in death by his parents; Gaylord and Mildred (Sumney) Shaw and his brother Ralph Shaw.  

Friends and Family are invited to the William G. Neal Funeral Home 925 Allison Ave. Washington PA on Tuesday September 29, 2026, from 2PM to 4PM and 6PM to 8PM.  A funeral service will take place on Wednesday September 30, 2026, at 9:30AM at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Mount Prospect Cemetery.
