Ralph R. Taylor

Ralph R. Taylor, 88, of Washington, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025, in Washington Hospital.

He was born December 18, 1936, in Wheeling, West Virginia, a son of the late Russell Taylor and Nellie Loar Taylor.

Mr. Taylor was a 1954 graduate of Waynesburg High School.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959.

Mr. Taylor was a City of Washington Police Officer from 1967 to 1987.

On December 18, 1967, he married Brooks J. McClelland, who died September 1, 2001.

He was a mason and a member of Dade Lodge #14 in Key West, Florida. He was also a member of The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #95.

Mr. Taylor enjoyed woodcarving.

Surviving are his beloved companion of 20 years, Catherine Hower, with whom he made his home, and two stepgrandsons, William and Sean Kelly.

Deceased is a stepson, William M. Kelly.

Arrangements are entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. Services and interment are private.
