Robert Lee Linton Sr., 91, of Washington, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2025.
He was born December 6, 1933, in Washington, a son of the late Leroy Lou Linton and Irene Hewitt Linton.
Robert was a horse trainer at Meadows Racetrack. He also worked at Kirk’s Machine Shop for many years.
He was a former Boy Scout Leader. He was Past Governor of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge and was a member of the Eagles Club.
Robert loved taking care of horses and watching horse races. He enjoyed boating, water skiing, and camping at Tub Run Camp at Youghiogheny Lake.
On August 23, 1952, he married Margaret Ann Stoner Linton, who passed away December 25, 1992.
Surviving are his children, Charles William Linton, Ronald Scott (Suzanne) Linton, David Paul Linton, Timothy John Linton, Linda Lou Linton Burt and Sandy Dee (Frederick) Greiss; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his wife and parents, are his children, Robert Lee Linton Jr., Donald Leroy Linton, Rae Ann Belcastro, Tracy (the late Robert) Gladys; a daughter-in-law, Carla Linton; and his siblings, Arthur Linton, Walter Linton, Charles Linton, Ann Huffman and Edna Ellis.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2025, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday December 5, 2025, burial to follow at Washington Cemetery.
