Rochelle Marie Jones, born Rochelle Marie Owens, passed away on October 23, 2026, in the arms of Jesus. She was born on October 12, 1942, in Lexington, Kentucky, and carried with her throughout life the warmth, strength, and grace that so beautifully reflected her roots.
Rochelle was a woman of faith, love, and quiet strength. She was loving, considerate, private, and God-fearing, and she always encouraged her children to do their best. Her steady wisdom and deep trust in the Lord were often expressed in the words she shared with her son: to pray about it, because it is in God’s hands. She was known for being helpful and for putting others before herself. Those who knew Rochelle knew a woman with a heart of gold, someone who loved helping as many people as she could. She carried herself with the charm of a Southern belle and left a gentle but lasting impression on the lives she touched.
Her commitment to caring for others was also seen in her work. Rochelle graduated from high school in Lexington, Kentucky, and completed her radiography program at the University of Kentucky. She went on to work as an X-ray Technician for the University of Kentucky Medical Center and also worked at Larned State Hospital in Kansas City. In each role, she brought compassion, dedication, and a servant’s heart to the people she encountered.
Outside of her work, Rochelle found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed crocheting and watching television game shows, pastimes that reflected both her creativity and her appreciation for comfort, routine, and quiet moments. The love she poured into her family and into others was also present in these everyday joys that made her life uniquely her own.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Shaun Jones, and her daughter-in-law, Lori Jones. She is also lovingly remembered by her brother, Edward Owens III, and her sister-in-law, Kathleen Owens. Rochelle’s legacy continues through her grandchildren and the families they have built: Sabrina and Curtis Clair; Shaun and Shaunna Jones Jr.; Jackson Jones; Vernon Lamar Brooks; Jasmine Jones; Jacquelin Davis; and Isaish Davis. Each of them carries forward a part of her love, her strength, and the values she held dear. She will also be missed by her 4 Great Grandchildren.
Rochelle was preceded in death by her father, Edward Owens Jr.; her mother, Olliebell (Blythe) Owens; her daughter, Jacqueline Davis; her grandson, Shon Davis Jr.; and her sisters, Olivia Kendal, Katherine Jenkins, Edna Stinson, and Joyce Walker. Their memories remained part of her life’s story, and now she rests with those who went before her.
Rochelle Marie Jones will be remembered with deep love and gratitude by all who knew her. Her life was marked by kindness, faith, service, and devotion to family. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind, and may the example of her loving heart continue to shine in the generations to come.
