Ronald Frank Christman, 82, of Washington, passed away on Tuesday July 8, 2025.
He was born on October 8, 1942, in Harrisburg, a son of the late Ronald Frye Christman Jr. and Dorothy Ellen Alley Hallam.
Ronald was a graduate of Trinity High School. He attended Waynesburg University and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).
He proudly served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965 as a photographer and was honorably discharged with the rank of Specialist 5.
Ronald went on to pursue a career in management at the Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, New York, from where he retired.
He coached both men’s and women’s tennis at Waynesburg University for 20 years and was a United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Certified Teaching Professional. He was named USPTA Middle States College Coach of the Year in 1999 and 2004 and was twice named conference coach of the year. Christman became one of the first college coaches to attain Etcheberry Certified status in sports specific strength and fitness.
He is survived by a son, Mark (Mary Ann) Christman; a daughter, Amy (Vito) Lionetti; grandchildren Michael Christman, Katy Christman, John “Jack” Lesh, and Mallory Lesh; brother John Christman; nieces Melissa Clutter and Tracy (Jason) Krenzelak; great-nieces and nephews Brent Clutter, Alyssa Clutter, Zack Krenzelak and Ally Krenzelak.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a grandchild, Thomas James Lesh.
At Ronald’s request, the service will be private.
