Ronnie L. Stein, a man whose life was marked by unwavering determination, infectious humor, and a deep devotion to family, passed away peacefully at his home in Washington on May 18, 2026. Born on July 14, 1958, Ronnie lived life full throttle, blazing his own trail with a spirit that refused to be confined by rules or convention.
A 1976 graduate of Trinity High School, Ronnie dedicated over three decades of his career to Jessop Steel Company, where he worked tirelessly as a maintenance worker while also working as an independent contractor for the United States Postal Service for 15 years. His commitment to hard work was a hallmark that defined both his professional and personal life.
Ronnie's personality was a unique blend of instigator and comforter. He had an uncanny ability to put others at ease, often through his great sense of humor and loving nature. Those who knew him well remember hearing the unmistakable rumble of his Harley Davidson Fat Boy echoing through the park as he came to watch his children’s ball games—moments that perfectly captured his passion for family and the joy he found in simple pleasures.
His hobbies were as diverse as his character: from the thrill of riding his Harley to the peace of spending time at the beach, from the hands-on satisfaction of cutting grass to the meticulous care of washing cars, Ronnie found happiness in life's everyday adventures. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his wife, Karen (Kovatch), their children Ryan (Amanda) Stein and Sara (Brady) Bedillion, and their treasured grandchildren Michelina, Ava, Mya, Aubrey, and Beau. To Ronnie, being a grandfather was not only a role but one of his proudest accomplishments, alongside his dedication to being a Mason and a Shriner.
Ronnie's family also includes his beloved mother, Ruth (Waychoff) Stein; brothers Jerry "Rusty" (Sherry "Chic") Stein and Doctor Robert "Rob" Stein; and sister-in-law Terri Thompson. Ronnie will be missed by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Stein.
In every sense of the word, Ronnie was a hard worker who never stopped—not just in his career but in his commitment to those he loved. His loving and caring spirit, combined with his unique zest for life and humor, has left an indelible mark on his family, friends, and community.
As they say goodbye to a man who lived life on his own terms and filled it with love, laughter, and endless energy, Ronnie's family and friends will carry forward the memory of a man who truly embodied the meaning of living fully. His legacy is one of passion, resilience, and an unparalleled devotion to family—a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
