Ruth E. McCurry, 92, of Washington, passed away November 28, 2025, in UPMC Washington.
She was born February 20, 1933, in West Finley, a daughter of the late Earl L. Pattison and Edith Bowman Pattison.
Ruth was a 1951 graduate of Washington High School.
She went on to work as a bank teller for PNC and then as an intake worker for the CETA program with the Washington County courthouse. Ruth moved to Florida and continued her work with the local county courts. She became an office supervisor in the Charlotte County Circuit Court, where she retired after 13 years.
In her free time, she loved to bowl, bake, dance and play cards with friends.
On May 21, 1954, she married David L. McCurry, who passed away on October 3, 1978.
Ruth is survived by a daughter, Sandy (Richard) Lee Phillips; a son, Michael Alan McCurry; a sister, Betty Jean Davis; two grandchildren, Ashley Michelle Phillips and Kaitlin Alexandra Phillips; and two great grandchildren, Natalie Ann Phillips and Chloe Ann Phillips.
She is preceded in death, in addition to her husband and parents, by a grandson, Paul David Phillips; two brothers, Earl L. Pattison Jr., who died in infancy, and Howard R. Pattison; and a sister, Eleanor Merryman.
Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of service, Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Bill Lawler officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
