Shirley Jean Van Houten Amon, 94, of Washington, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025, in her home.
She was born March 20, 1931, in Washington, the daughter of the late Claude Van Houten and Sarah Miller Van Houten.
Shirley was a homemaker who loved crocheting, shopping, NASCAR and playing Bingo.
On January 23, 1948, she married Lonnie “Jack” Amon, who passed away December 19, 2005.
Surviving are two sons, Jack (Linda) Amon of Washington, and Lonnie Amon of Washington; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a daughter, Jean Sexton, and a granddaughter, Tammy Lynn White.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2025, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2025, with the Rev. Donald Amon officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
