Stella Irene Maloy, 63, of Washington, died Saturday, December 29, 2018, in the Washington Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. She was born May 20, 1955, in Washington, a daughter of the late Charles and Emma Diamond McCartney. Mrs. Maloy graduated from Washington High School in 1973. She worked as a cook at Kid Biz for over 20 years, and for Kellington Protection Services for seven years. Mrs. Maloy was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved traveling and vacationing, going to concerts, and being with family, especially her grandkids. On November 4, 1989, she married Arthur Maloy, who died January 3, 2006. Surviving are a daughter, Dana Matyjasek (David) of Washington; two stepsons, Charles Maloy (Christine) and Mark Maloy, both of Washington; a sister, Emma Newman-Romano (Chris) of Fairmont, West Virginia; five grandchildren, Charles Wood (Jessica), Jessica Wood-Boy (Luis), Jerimiah Crowe, Jeffrey Maloy and Raymond Hackney; six great-grandchildren, Bryce, Tally, Tatum, Antonio, Smythe and Alayna; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Deceased are three brothers, Charles, Lawrence, and Wallace McCartney. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 1 till 3 and 6 till 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2019, with Rev. Fred McCloskey officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
