Susan Green

Susan Green, 72 of Washington, died Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the Donnell House. She was born November 11, 1946 in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late John Oliver Hastings and Grace Madeline Fitzmaurice Hastings. Susan worked at Chartiers-Houston Community Library, the Observer- Reporter Newspaper and retired from J. C. Penney’s. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held many callings in church within her religion. Susan was an avid reader and liked cross stitching, canning and serving anyone in need. She loved spending time her grandchildren. On August 4, 1974, she married Joseph E. Green in the Greentree Latter-Day Saints chapel. It was sealed in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Washington D.C. Temple for time and all eternity. Deceased is a son, Timothy Joseph Green. Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Jenna Lynn (Jeffrey) Young of Washington, Jamie Green of Washington; daughter-in-law, Urszula Green of Pittsburgh; three siblings, Marsha (the late William) Sorba of Oakdale, James (Carol) Hastings of Upper St. Clair, Janet (Timothy) Davin of Greentree; four grandchildren, Aidan Young, Lila Young, Mataya Green and Kasia Green; several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday, August 13, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints, 525 Fairway St, Washington, where services will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Corey Long officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.
