Tillie Skariot Simpson, 88, of Washington, passed away peacefully Friday, May 30, 2025, in her home.

She was born on March 8, 1937, in Washington, a daughter of the late Frank and Julia McCloskey Skariot. 

Tillie was a graduate of Trinity High School.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. 

Tillie was a homemaker and devoted her life to the love and care of her husband and children. She was an active volunteer at her church and Washington Hospital, as well as helping at local elections.She loved cooking, baking, reading, college basketball, playing games, and cards, especially Old Maid with her beloved grandchildren.

On August 11, 1956, she married the love of her life, “Larry” Lawrence James Simpson Sr., who died on July 15, 2023. 

Also surviving are a son, Larry (Beth) Simpson Jr.; two daughters, Kimberly Reigle and Allyson (Mike) Hazzard; a son-in-law, Jeff Wareham; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

Deceased are a daughter, Robin Wareham; four siblings; and a son-in-law, Joe Reigle.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful and compassionate care that Tillie was given by Dr. Mary Naguit. 

A funeral service will be held at on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at 2 p.m. in First Presbyterian Church, 100 E. Wheeling Street, Washington.
