William L. “Bill” Freiberger, 71, of Washington, died Wednesday, October 24, 2018, in his home. He was born June 23, 1947, in Washington, a son of the late William E. and Elaine Marie Miller Freiberger. A 1965 graduate of Trinity High School, Mr. Freiberger was a graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics and a veteran of the Air Force. He worked as an aircraft technician for American Airlines and retired as general chairman of the Machinists Union. Mr. Freiberger was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed golfing. On September 27, 1969, he married Shirley Gray, who survives. Also surviving are a son, William S. (Lara) Freiberger of McDonald; a daughter, Leslie (Erik) Miklos of Washington; brother Danny L. (Beth) Freiberger of Coral Springs, Florida; sister, Pam (Donald) Habe of McDonald; and five grandchildren, Alex and Kyle Freiberger, and Joshua, Nathan and Calvin Miklos. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 27th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15205. All are encouraged to wear Steelers attire to Mr. Freiberger’s service.
