William Slater Brown Sr.

William Slater Brown Sr., 73, of Avella, passed away on January 30, 2018 in his home. He was born March 9, 1944, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late John Slater Brown and Margaret Getty Brown. William was a graduate of Montour High School, and received an Associates Degree from Pittsburgh Technical College. He was a farmer, who enjoyed hunting, working the Apple Festival, the County fair, and spending time with family. On May 1, 1970, he married Deborah Moore, who survives, Also surviving are two sons, John (Dana) Brown and William Slater (Brittany) Brown Jr., both of Avella; and four grandchildren, Ashlyn, Christopher, Dustin, and Lynsee. Friends will be received Saturday February 3, 2018, from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m., and Sunday February 4, 2018, from 1 to 3 pm, the time of service, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA, with Pastor Richard Narus officiating. Burial will be private.
