William Kennedy Closser

We lovingly bid farewell to William Kennedy Closser, 63, of Claysville, who passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Forbes Hospital in Monroeville, PA.

He was born on October 30, 1962, in West Palm Beach, FL, the son of the late Harold and Laura (Kennedy) Closser.

A graduate of Trinity High School in Washington, William also attended Penn State.

After leaving school, Bill worked for many years in the asbestos removal industry before going in to the security industry as an Installation Technician, most significantly working at Everon Security Systems for 15 years. Also, Bill served his local community as a volunteer firefighter with Canton Township Fire Department for many years, originally joining as a junior firefighter, meeting many life long friends along the way.

Bill loved to cook and grill; he had an appreciation for guns which he collected and carefully maintained; he took great satisfaction in his lawn and mowing it to his standards; he enjoyed watching nature and her creatures on his cameras. He loved all Pittsburgh sports, especially the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Bill is survived by a loving family: son Jeremy Closser; daughter Jessica (Wesley Ward) Closser; brother Dennis Closser; sister Betty Kennedy Hotton; grandchild Olivia Ward; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as dear friends.

The Closser family would like to recognize Bill's Everon work family for their “life-saving efforts” along with their kindness during this difficult time.

Bill’s wish was that there be no public visitation or service.
