William Henry Mull, born on February 14, 1938, in McDonald, Pennsylvania, peacefully passed away at his home in Washington, Pennsylvania, on June 19, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was known for his unwavering dedication to his family and an enduring work ethic that defined much of his life. He worked tirelessly, often through long shifts both day and night, always putting the needs of his wife and children first. Those close to Bill remember him as someone whose tough exterior was complemented by a deep kindness and generosity; although his bark was sometimes louder than his bite, his love for his family was unquestionable. Bill’s personality was marked by moments of grumpiness, yet his friendliness and fundamentally compassionate nature always shone through.
He pursued his passions with enthusiasm and commitment. An avid sportsman, Bill found great joy in hunting—pursuing buck, doe, and turkey throughout the years. He was especially proud of his impressive 15-point trophy buck and fondly recounted his trip to Wyoming in the 1960s, where he successfully hunted a mule deer. In addition to these outdoor pursuits, Bill was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers, never missing a game and even subscribing to premium sports channels to ensure he could watch his favorite teams play.
Bill’s legacy is cherished by those who survive him: His children; Barbara (David) Russell; Linda Keener; Bill (Barbara) Mull; His grandchildren; Amanda (Robbie) Haught; Jami (Larry) Ankrom; Jennifer Russell; Nick (Heather) White and his brothers; Clyde (late Lona) Mull; Jerry Mull; and Roger (Darleen) Mull. He will be dearly missed by 9 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Alice Lee (Klein) Mull and daughter Carol Mull; his brothers David and Bob Mull and sister Bertha Hunt and his parents Bertha (English) David Mull. William Henry Mull’s life was a testament to hard work, devotion, and the strong bonds of family. He will be remembered with respect and affection by all whose lives he touched.
