William F. Reese

William F. “Bill” Reese, 79, of Washington, died Friday, February 1, 2019, in his home. He was born May 4, 1939, in Washington, a son of the late Earl and Mary Mancini Reese. Mr. Reese graduated from Claysville High School in 1958 and attended Iowa Institute of Telegraphy in Marshalltown, Iowa.   A veteran of the Army, he served from 1958 to 1960. After his discharge from the Army, Mr. Reese worked for B&O Railroad as a telegraph operator in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he met his future wife. In 1966, he began working at McGraw-Edison/Cooper Power Systems near Canonsburg, where he worked for 26 years. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and North American Hunting Club, a member of the Canonsburg Sportsmen’s Club and Rocky Mountain Elk Federation, and a supporter of Wounded Warriors.  Mr. Reese enjoyed farming, fishing and hunting.  He hunted and fished in at least a dozen states, as well as Russia and Canada. Mr. Reese was a member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church. On November 30, 1963, he married Bonita “Bonnie” Webster, who survives. Also surviving are a son, William “Bill” Reese, Jr., (Ida); a daughter, Yvonne Medors (Patrick); a brother, John Reese (Vanessa); two sister, Deanna Lesneski (Johnny) and Kathy Huff (Fred); one granddaughter, Kaitlin Reese; numerous nieces and nephews; and several cousins. Deceased are a sister, Leora Armstrong, and a brother, Earl Reese. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.  At the request of the deceased, funeral services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 301 Grant Street, Suite 900, Pittsburgh, PA 15219, or to Paralyzed Veterans of American, Attn: Donor Support, 801 18th St., NW,Washington, DC 20006.
