William Strope Jr., a gifted artist, passed away on May 13, 2026, in Avella, Pennsylvania. His departure after a battle with complications from diabetes leaves a profound void among his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Bill was a graduate of Avella High School, Class of 1989. He worked closely alongside his father, William Strope Sr., contributing his skills to the family business, Strope Speed Shop, as well as assisting with maintenance at their church. His commitment to both family and faith reflected a character of care and reliability.
A man of extraordinary intellect and kindness, Bill was known as a genius, always eager to help others. His artistic talents were especially notable; he was an accomplished chalk portrait artist, winning numerous awards that celebrated his unique ability to capture the likeness and spirit of his subjects. Beyond his art, William’s passions extended to his beloved 1990 Corvette, which he enjoyed working on meticulously. He also found joy in the thrill of Road Racing Autocross and solo events at North Hills Park, activities that highlighted his adventurous spirit.
Bill’s love for music and films further enriched his life, creating moments of joy that he treasured alongside his artistic pursuits. Known as a computer wiz and an electronics expert, he had a remarkable knack for understanding and solving complex technical challenges. Additionally, his profound love for animals added yet another dimension to his compassionate and caring nature.
He is survived by his father, William Strope Sr.; his brother, Aaron Strope, and sister-in-law, Beth; and his beloved niece, Sadie Strope. He also leaves behind his aunts Shirley (Rob) Phillips, Kathy Snyder, and Karen Magee, as well as cousins Jimmie, Kelly, Jimmy, Alyssa, Eric, Nicole, Neal, and “L.G.” Bill was predeceased by his mother, Cheryl (Andrews) Strope.
William Strope Jr.’s life was one marked by creativity, intelligence, and heartfelt dedication to all he loved. His legacy remains vividly alive in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him—a testament to a life well-lived with grace, talent, and generosity.
