Janice Greene Rice, 60, of Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011, in her residence, following a brief illness.
She was born November 14, 1950, in Knoxville, Tennessee, a daughter of Helen McMillan Mason of Murphy, North Carolina, and the late John K. Mason.
Janice was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and worked as a realtor.
She was a passionate hiker and devoted to the Smokey Mountains.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her husband, Philip Rice; a stepson, Paul Rice of Bridgeville; a stepdaughter, Christi Rice of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; one brother, John Mason of Murphy, North Carolina; two sisters, Joy Price of Aiken, South Carolina and Jennifer Wilson of Tampa, Florida; and two grandchildren, Bo and Remy Howard of Sevierville, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Molly Greene Howard, and a nephew, Benjamin Price.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 12th, in Trinity Episcopal Church, Gatlinburg, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Smokies, P.O. Box 1660, Kodak, TN 37764-7660 (1-800-845-5665).
