Angelo J. Rech

Angelo J. Rech, 85, of Washington, died Friday, April 2, 2010. He was born January 12, 1925, in Arden, a son of Antonio and Angela Bof Rech. Mr. Rech graduated from Trinity High School and was a lifetime member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Washington. On May 5, 1943, he entered the U.S. Army, and for his service was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Service Medal, the European, African, Middle Eastern Theater Service Medal, with one Bronze Star, and the Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged February 6, 1946. Mr. Rech was a yale driver at Brockway Glass Plant #7, until his retirement in 1984. He was a lifetime member of Alpine Star Lodge, the VFW, and Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion, and enjoyed bowling. Surviving are Janet Boff Bergstrom and Robert Boff, both of Ohio, who were raised in his family home after their father’s death in World War II. Also surviving are a cousin, Debra Gajarsky Marcus, of Ohio; an aunt, Rose Kristoff, of Maryland; and many cousins. Deceased is a cousin, Lena Boff Gajarsky, who was raised from childhood by the Rech family. Friends will be received 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 6, 2010, in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 119 W. Chestnut Street, Washington, with Father William Feeney, as celebrant. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion.
