Alfred David Leppert

Alfred David Leppert, 64, of Washington, died Saturday, May 29, 2010, in Donnell House. He was born July 23, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio, a son of the late Alfred C. and Wilma McBrayer Leppert. Mr. Leppert was a veteran of the United States Air Force. During his four years of service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Leppert worked for 34 years in the maintenance and warehouse departments for Joy Manufacturing. He was a member of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 for 40 years and Canonsburg Sportsmen’s Association. Mr. Leppert enjoyed traveling with his wife, target shooting, fishing, reading historical books, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He was Protestant by faith. On May 30, 1963, he married Carolyn Frank, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Lee Ann (David W.) Closser of North Huntington, and Tammy Sue (Gordon R., Jr.) Greer, of Winchester, Virginia; a brother, Erwin C. Leppert of Washington; four grandchildren, Lauren Closser, Gordon Greer, Matthew Closser and Lindsay Greer; and two nephews, E. Carl Leppert and David P. Leppert. Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 1st, with Rev. Robert Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175. Memorial contributions may be made to Donnell House, Hospice Care of the Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
