Margaret R. Pettit, 70, of Washington, died Monday, June 1, 2009, in her residence.
She was born September 14, 1938, in Washington, a daughter of Walter and Martha Marchesi Maze.
Mrs. Pettit graduated from Washington High School. She worked as a selector/packer at Brockway Glass and later worked at Toys R Us and Town and Country Market.
Mrs. Pettit enjoyed bowling and was an avid Steelers fan.
She was Lutheran by faith.
On May 11, 1957, she married her first husband, Donald E. Dowdle, who died in 1966.
On March 4, 1970, she married George Pettit, who died in 2000.
Surviving are two sons, George Pettit of Jefferson Hills and Greg Pettit of Taylorstown; four daughters, Brenda Falascino of Canonsburg, Debi Earliwine of Columbus, Ohio, Jackie VanRiper and Dawna Wise, both of Washington; one brother, Walter (Maryann) Maze of Washington; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6th, with Rev. Thomas Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
